CODY PUNTER: PHOTOGRAPHER, JOURNALIST, STORY TELLER.
Cody Punter is a Canadian documentary photographer and journalist who tells stories that matter.
He spent two years working as a reporter and photographer for a newspaper in Yellowknife, NT, before setting off to cover the refugee crisis in Europe last fall. After travelling across nine countries in three months, Cody held an exhibition of his most gripping shots entitled: The Borders In Between.
Since returning he has worked as a freelance photographer and journalist for a variety of media outlets in addition to pursuing his personal projects. This past summer Cody spent seven weeks as the sole editor, photographer and reporter for The Kivalliq News, a weekly newspaper based in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. When he is not travelling on assignment he is currently based in Toronto.
Cody's work has appeared in The Independent, The Toronto Star, CBC, VICE, Toronto Life, iPolitics, Readers Digest, Up Here Magazine among others.
